Soft DM outreach

When someone’s asked for help, the first message is soft. Your content came up on my feed, I think I remember your profile engaging with Sam Stoffel, I used to be his head of content. Then one tip that fits their niche, something they can do today, and hope you’re well, keep going. That’s it. It’s conversational, and it says who I am and why they should listen. If they reply, that’s when I mention the one-hour strategy call.

How do I use it?

1. Collect the DMs where someone asked for 1:1 help, and get the account owner’s approval first if the inbox is someone else’s.
2. Pull each person’s followers, bio, offer and last 5 posts before writing anything.
3. Tier them: strong if they named a problem and wanted help, medium if they gave no goal, not a lead with a reason Tom can overrule.
4. Order each tier by viral potential and the most interesting story.
5. Match a service, with the one-hour call as the entry point for every strong and medium lead.
6. Write the DM in three beats: your content came up on my feed, I used to be Sam Stoffel’s head of content, one tip they can use today.
7. Sign off with hope you’re well, keep going, and leave out any pitch, price or link.
8. Send every DM by hand.
9. If they reply, offer a one-hour strategy call for a proper look at their page.
