From chapter: THE DEBRIEF, pp. 192–192
In a 2005 newspaper campaign each ad carried a booking code, and the data showed odd page ads beat even page ads, two-colour beat black-and-white, and an upside-down ad's response rate fell off a cliff. The team's saying is 'The truth is in the results', so they measure cost per lead, cost per sale, enquiries, unsubscribes, clicks and conversions, and test brochures and sales conversations. Investigate after the campaign, not during. The debrief gathers volunteers, staff, directors, speakers and suppliers in a circle to answer six questions while the day is fresh.
